30/10/2014 Construction of new system of drinking water supply is at the completion stage in Tskhneti
In about two months population of Tskhneti will be provided with 24-hour drinking water supply. Vake district majority member of Tbilisi legislative assembly Giorgi Muskhelishvili and deputy head of Vake municipality Nukri Zaridze repeatedly visited the water supply system construction site in Tskhneti today. Director general of Georgian Water and Power company Giorgi Gachechiladze familiarized Giorgi Muskhelishvili and Nukri Zaridze with the current works in Rustaveli and Amilakhvari streets intersection in lower Tskhneti.
Starting from June of the current year Georgian Water and Power company has been carrying out package of technical works for the provision of 24-hour water supply as in Tskhneti village as in various villages and settlements included in new borders of Tbilisi. According to general director of the company Mr. Giorgi Gachechiladze the construction of new system of drinking water supply in Tskhneti is approaching its completion stage. “The network with total length of 24 kilometers with corresponding branches has been already laid. Just 1 more kilometer of network with its branches has to be laid. By the end of November we will be able to transfer the population of Tskhneti to new water supply system, while since 1 January we will supply drinking water to entire Tskhneti in 24-hours mode, - says Mr. Gachechiladze.
“Georgian Water and Power” reconstructed in Tskhneti settlement 3 reservoirs and constructed a pumping station where 4 up-to-date automated pumping units will be installed in the near future so that to ensure water supply of Tskhneti population through the networks of 25 000 meters length.
“Georgian Water and Power” will fulfill the program of 24-hour water supply provision in new administrative borders of Tbilisi by the end of 2014 which means, that the newly included districts of the capital city will also be provided with drinking water round the clock since 2015.
